Hong Qiao International Airport, situated 13 kilometres southwest of Shanghai city centre, is one of the airports in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. The other airport is Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Hong Qiao International Airport was once served as the main international airport of Shanghai before Shanghai Pudong International Airport was completed in 1999.

Hong Qiao International Airport handled 22,877,404 passengers in 2008, making it the 4th busiest airport in China. It was also ranked as the 6th busiest airport in terms of traffic movements and 5th in terms of cargo traffic.

At the area, the public transportation is offered by bus, shuttle, coach, and taxi. The public buses are running regularly to city destinations, such as the city ticket office. Shuttles are run by most major hotels going to and from the airport. Coach services run to Hongzhou, Nan Jing, and Suzhou. Taxis are to be found outside Arrivals area.

Airport amenities include ATMs, banks, and bureaux de change, which are located throughout the airport. There are two post offices, each one being situated in each terminal of the airport. Internet is also available. There are public telephones, taking phone cards and local coins; and international direct dial telephones, which are to be found in Arrivals. In addition, there are coffee shops, bars, and restaurants in both terminals. Shops are also available, including duty-free and shopping market situated just outside the airport entrance. Some Chinese specialties like scroll paintings and silk clothing are available for sale. Moreover, there is available trolley for hire. Uniformed porters can be hired also, although tipping is not permitted. There is available left-luggage service. A lost property office is situated in Building A's Arrivals Hall.

Other facilities at the airport include smoking areas located throughout the terminals, a beauty salon, two clinics, and a fitness centre located in the Shanghai International Airport Hotel (located at the airport).

There are business facilities to be found at the airport, such as three mini business centres. These centres offer mainly fax, Internet services, and photocopying. One centre is located in Building A and the two centres in Building B. The Shanghai International Airport Hotel has more extensive business facilities, such as telex facilities, photocopying, fax, telephone, and various meeting rooms. The hotel also offers catering services, 24-hours a day.

The airport has facilities for disabled travellers, including toilets located in the terminal building. The airport is also equipped with ramps, elevators, and lifts to offer easy access for those disabled travellers.

The Shanghai International Airport Hotel offers a shuttle transfer to the international terminal and a remote check-in for travellers flying to Japan. Hotels near the airport include the Hilton Shanghai, Hengshan Hotel, Hotel Equatorial Shanghai, Grand Mercure Hongqiao Shanghai, Marriott Shanghai Hongqiao, New Garden Hotel, Novotel Atlantis Shanghai, Sheraton Grand Tai Ping Yang Hotel, Sofitel Hyland Shanghai, and Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel. Most of these hotels have their shuttle buses from the airport. Information about these hotels can be asked at the hotel desks in the Arrivals hall of the airport.
